Compile, don't retrieve
I piled notes “for later” for a long time. Then a pile of files failed to answer the question I had today.
The bet is different now. A new source does not need its own page forever. Fold it into pages that already exist: update the synthesis, fix a link, mark a conflict. Andrej Karpathy described this as LLM Wiki. On top of PARA I run a Knowledge Garden.
When you need a quote, search is enough. When you need, six months later, what the reading implies for a decision, you need a compiled layer. Costlier to build now. Cheaper to read later.
